HANZ MARATHON - Producer, Songwriter, Musician, Engineer Inspired by the spirit of the Rock & Pop legends of the 60s and 70s his musical career started when friend of the familiy gave him his first electric guitar. Just one year later he hit the stage with his first rock band "Sunburn". Three years later his ever deepening musical commitment expanded into piano and keyboards. After graduation he made his living by teaching guitar lessons and playing in several bands, like "Magic Guitars", "Zeno" and "Electric Sun"(Uli Roth). His first production, "Magic Guitars", was released in 1983 in collaboration with Heiner Lürig (Heinz Rudolf Kunze). A second followed in 1984. At this time he published his guitar method book "Rock Solo Gitarre" with "Rock Keyboards" appearing a short time later. From 1983 until 1990 he performed at the Frankfurt Music Exhibition for the German company Sennheiser, demonstrating their wireless systems. Since 1987 he has produced in his own studio, which was initially named "The Kick" and has been known as "MARATHON MUSIC" since 1990. The bulk of his output is music for film and commercials, but he had always a variety of other projects, such as his band "MARATHON", which has also performed in London. In 1999 the record company point-music released the original demos as Early Works. After the split of MARATHON in 1990, he composed and produced for the singer "Mikle Ross" and released 3 singles in 1991-92. In 1994 he made an unplugged version of the chart hit "I Show You Secrets" by "Pharao". This year he also created one of his most popular radio and TV-spots: "becker`s bester", today a well-known classic. He produced the album "Rainbow Trance" in 1996 with Walter Lübeck, known as author from many reiki books. His 1997 album, MARATHON PROJECT, includes the official charity song "Give it from your Heart" for the newspaper BILD Herzensbrücke. 2001 he produced a CD for the 15 year old female singer Doreen and composed an album for the NORD/LB. With the voice-genius Andreas Neumann an album was produced and released in February 2002 under own Label MARATONE. In 2003 also a rap song for the big insurance company Hannoversche Leben was produced and released. Beside his ongoing work for commercials he composed and produced a series of unreleased songs with the highly talented singer Amina and is now also working on own songmaterial. |
